Los Alamos Police Chief Wayne Torpy announced his retirement today.
“My doctors tell me I’m not going to fully recover from my stroke so I’ve decided it’s time for me to retire,” Torpy told the Los Alamos Daily Post moments ago. “My effective retirement date will be sometime in early fall to allow the County time to conduct a search for a new police chief.”
Chief Torpy suffered a stroke several months ago and underwent open heart surgery a few weeks ago. Read More
