SANTA FE Rep. Jim Smith (R-Bernalillo, Sandoval and Santa Fe) presented legislation Tuesday to the House State Government, Indians and Veterans Affairs Committee to establish and maintain a statewide broadband network in New Mexico.

I want to begin by congratulating Sheila Shiferl on her election last night. It was a great contest, and I wish her all the luck in her new position. UNM-LA deserves no less than all of her energy and talents going into the future.
