U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich Visits Los Alamos Daily Post

U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., stopped by the Los Alamos Daily Post newspaper this afternoon following visits to Descartes Labs, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Cottonwood on the Greens at the Golf Course and the Democratic Campaign Headquarters in Central Park Square. Heinrich visited the newspaper in 2013 to congratulate the news team on its small business of the year award. DPNM Chairwoman Calls On Corrections Department To Abide By N.M.’s Fair Pay For Women Act

ALBUQUERQUE –  Democratic Party of New Mexico (DPNM) Chairwoman Debra Haaland called on the Department of Corrections to abide by New Mexico’s Fair Pay for Women Act of 2013 after the Corrections Department claimed that the state departments are exempt from paying women equal pay for equal work.

DOE Announces $25 Million To Accelerate Integration Of Solar Energy Into Nation’s Electrical Grid

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As part of the Energy Department’s ongoing efforts to modernize the nation’s grid through the Grid Modernization Initiative, the Energy Department announced $25 million in available funding through an effort called Enabling Extreme Real-Time Grid Integration of Solar Energy (ENERGISE) to help software developers, solar companies, and utilities accelerate the integration of solar energy into the grid.

Council Approves Changes To Financial Policies

County Council voted 4-3 this evening to approve financial policy changes to the general fund, including dropping general fund reserves to 20 percent from 25 percent, moving the warning for reserves to 15 percent and consolidating those funds into one fund. Councilors James Chrobocinski, David Izraelevitz, Pete Sheehey and Chair Rick Reiss voted for the measure.
