The Los Alamos Federated Republican Women will celebrate the holiday season with a potluck luncheon noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 10, in the Patio Room at 1001 Oppenheimer Place.

 

Barbara McClain, the newly elected New Mexico FRW president, is the special guest speaker for the event.
 
LAFRW member Terry Marzili will collect the donations and Christmas gifts to be delivered to the Adopt-a-Family program.

WIPP: Safe Havens Increases Underground Safety

The WIPP site has made significant safety improvements. Recently, eight underground safe havens (or refuge chambers) were delivered to the site and will be downloaded into the WIPP underground prior to the restart of waste disposal operations.
