School Board Position 3 Applications Accepted Until 5 p.m. Friday

Residents of Los Alamos Public School School Board Position 3 have until the close of the business Friday Sept. 5 to submit an application for the open position.

Applicants also are asked to submit a notarized Declaration of Candidacy (can be picked up at the School District Office or at the County Clerk’s Office), a one page resume, and a 300-500 word narrative that explains the applicant’s intent and philosophy of education. ALBUQUERQUE – Tuesday, Sen. Tom Udall, D-N.M. visited Sandia National Laboratories with fellow Sen. Richard Durbin of Illinois to discuss ways to support New Mexico’s national labs and promote technology transfer to create new well-paying jobs.

Today is Women’s Equality Day. This day marks the anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote 94 years ago.

Thousands of women and their allies worked for decades to make that day in 1920 possible. It took years of lobbying and demonstrations, passing out pamphlet after pamphlet, publishing editorials and giving speeches to make it happen.

Community Invited to Los Alamos GOP Election Headquarters Grand Opening Sept. 1

GOP News:

The Republican Party of Los Alamos invites friends and families to the opening of its 2014 election headquarters at 4 p.m., Sept. 1, Labor Day.
