State Police Search For Suspect In Deadly Socorro Shooting

Update: Following a nearly 48-hour manhunt aided by the Socorro Police Department Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, NMSP agents located Anthony Alvarado at a residence in Magdalena. At approximately 8 p.m., officers with the NMSP Tactical Team surrounded the home and initiated callouts ordering Alvarado to surrender. After an approximately one-and-a-half-hour standoff, Alvarado exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident.

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish is issuing an urgent public safety alert, reminding the public that handling wildlife spreads disease and violates state law.

FBI: Morgan Lake Man Charged With Assault

ALBUQUERQUE — A Morgan Lake man has been charged with assaulting an officer using his vehicle.

According to court documents, Sept. 28, 2025, officers from the Navajo Nation Police Department responded to a report of a suspected drunk driver. When they arrive in the area, the driver, Kendall Benally, 42, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, refused to obey commands and attempted to flee in his vehicle, striking and injuring an officer and a marked unit in the process. LAPD UPDATE: Main Hill Road Has Reopened

LAPD News:

UPDATE: The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) reports that the Main Hill Road has reopened following this morning’s two-vehicle accident.

“The Main Hill is now open, and all the involved vehicles have been removed,” Cmdr. Daniel Robert said. “We thank the community for their patience.”

Cmdr. Roberts said that one of the individuals involved in the accident did sustain injuries and was transported to Los Alamos Medical Center for treatment.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department has taken over the scene and will determine whether either driver involved in the accident is cited. Read More
