County Dessert Dance Events Feb. 4, 11, 12

The Los Alamos County Parks, Recreation and Open Space Division will host annual Valentine’s Dessert Dances at Fuller Lodge in February.

The Daddy/Daughter event is Wednesday Feb. 4, the Mother/Son event is Wednesday Feb. 11 and the Family Dance is Thursday Feb. 12. All events are 6-8:30 p.m., and includes light refreshments, dancing, a craft project and a digital photo keepsake.

Ballroom & Swing Dance Classes At YMCA

YMCA News:

New Ballroom and Swing dance lessons are available at the Family YMCA beginning in February.

The Y has opened registration for two new instructional dance classes: Ballroom Dance and Swing Dance. Each program is taught in a group setting where participants will be matched with a partner to learn technique, footwork, and movement to the music.

In February, Ballroom Dance class will focus on the Waltz, with subsequent months focused on Foxtrot, Tango, or Latin styles. The Swing Dance class will be dedicated to West Coast style Swing during the next few months.

Pajarito Mountain Ski Area (PMSA) just announced that after picking up seven inches of snow Wednesday, the Los Alamos Ski Area will open most of its mountain this Saturday and Sunday.
