Los Alamos Jewish Center Hosts Annual Community Passover Seder At Betty Ehart Saturday April 4

The Los Alamos Jewish Center will hold its annual community Passover Seder this year at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4 at the Betty Ehart Senior Center.

The event is open to the public.

The Seder is a ceremonial dinner filled with rituals designed to celebrate the Jewish people’s exodus from Egypt. The Seder, which is Hebrew for “order”, ushers in the week of Pesach in which Jews refrain from eating Chametz (food with leavening).

Knights Of Columbus Hosts Fish Fry Friday

The popular Lenten Friday night fish fries hosted by the Los Alamos Knights of Columbus are in full swing again at Karen McLaughlin Hall next to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Canyon Road.

The Knights will serve fish with coleslaw, wild rice or fries and dessert with tea, lemonade/limeade, or coffee for $10 for an adult meal and $7 for a kid’s meal. Grilled cheese sandwiches with fries also are available for $7.

I sat down at my desk one day and was startled when I felt something grab my legs. My daughter Hannah was curled up underneath hiding from her brother Kyle. I know this because she told me. I was confused because I had just seen Kyle watching TV in the other room with no concern of the world around him.
