White Rock Presbyterian Church is hosting its annual Rummage Sale 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 in Memorial Hall at the church, 310 Rover Blvd.
There are three ways members of the community can help to make this a success. First of all, plan to attend. As the saying goes, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” There will be a number of items for sale, including clothing, books, games, sports equipment, household goods and furniture.

A year ago, before starting my freshman year at Los Alamos High School, my dad took me to a Christian music festival in Seattle, Wash. There we saw a band made up of four Russian immigrant brothers whose family escaped religious persecution. The Unitarian Church of Los Alamos continues its summer movie series with a viewing of the 2013 Oscar winning hit, Gravity at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, in Robinson Hall at the church. Admission if free.

The First Baptist Church is hosting a free stuff day 10 a.m. to noon this Saturday, Aug. 2 on its campus at 2200 Diamond Dr.
This event is for anyone in the community. Come on down for a free morning of rock climbing, face painting and snacks.

Rosary and Funeral Mass Set For Emily Mares-Lang
IHM News:
A rosary will be held for Emily Mares-Lang at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 3700 Canyon Road in Los Alamos.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Emily died July 21, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, New Mexico of a head trauma after a reckless driver hit her while she was walking.
