Fire managers have successfully treated 1,250 acres of the 7,300 acres scheduled scheduled for up to five days on the San Juan prescribed burn.
Flames and fire are visible from Cat and San Juan Mesas at night and residents will see a “glowing mountain” … this is expected so don’t be alarmed.
Ignitions have started again today on the San Juan prescribed burn and fire managers will continue using hand ignitions to create a blackline along the southeastern/western perimeter of the burn area.
