Tom’s 2024 Thanksgiving Thankful List

Each November. I compose a “Thanksgiving Thankful List” for the preceding year.
My wife, Deb, and I enjoy our life in red rock southern Utah and have many things for which we are thankful.
I hope sharing them brings a smile and acknowledgement that even the seldom thought of can be a source of thankfulness.
Below is my 2024 list:
- I’m thankful for call blocking. The phone rings, you pick it up and say, “hello.” No one answers and you hear muffled noise in the background, people talking on phones. Then, maybe five, or even ten seconds later, someone says in a thickly accented

Chancel Bell Choir will perform holiday favorites 5:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at First Presbyterian Church, 208 Grant Ave. in Santa Fe.
The First Presbyterian Chancel Bell Choir plays for Sunday services as requested and prepares concerts for the TGIF recital series in December and May. The annual Christmas concert is a community favorite.

Los Alamos Girl Scout Troop 10605 Donates Christmas Tree To Be Auctioned To Benefit Esperanza Shelter
Girl Scouts from Los Alamos Troop 10605 donated and decorated a Christmas tree to be auctioned to benefit the Esperanza Shelter in Santa Fe, a crisis center that provides services for those experiencing domestic violence in Northern New Mexico. Many other Los Alamos Girl Scout troops contributed to the effort, which resulted in a holiday tree featuring Girl Scout-themed ornaments.
