The 17th annual Knights of Columbus Haunted House opened Friday night on DP Road. The Haunted House is open again 6-9 p.m. today at the Columbian Club Hall (formerly Knights of Columbus Hall) at 104 DP Road. Española Fiber Arts Center Opens Santa Fe Store

The Española Valley Fiber Arts Center has announced the Nov. 2 grand opening of its Santa Fe satellite location. Previously the home of Amores Yarn, in the heart of the Railyard District, the new shop is at 328 S Guadalupe St., Ste E.
 
“The expansion into Santa Fe was a logical progression for us,” EVFAC Executive Director Denielle Rose said. “We’ve been looking for the right storefront to grow EVFAC’s program-ming and when this opportunity arose we knew we had to take it.”

Hillstrummers Perform At Betty Ehart 11:30 A.M. Friday

The Hillstrummers Ukulele Group gather at the final performance under Director Dan Gerth before his retirement. The Hillstrummers will perform at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25 for the monthly birthday celebration at the Betty Ehart Senior Center 1100 Bathtub Row. Join the Los Alamos Historical Society at 7 p.m., Oct. 30 in historic Fuller Lodge for a showing of a 1953 atomic monster movie, part of this year’s Atomic Film Series.
 
We can’t tell you the name of the movie here, but it’s a campy monster movie that’s a great watch for Halloween! It’s also one of the very first atomic monster movies, coming out the year before Godzilla first roared onto screens. It can be hard to pursue your own creativity when you have young kids in the house. But Erin Breneman has been able to develop her artistic talent as a parent.
 
For her, the key was to choose a medium that doesn’t make a mess. Colored pencils.
 
Using colored pencils she captures flowers in astounding lifelike detail.
 
Her work is now being featured in a solo exhibition at the Karen Wray Gallery in Los Alamos.
