PEEC: Lisa Coddington’s Last Fall Art Class Of 2017

There is still time to take a class with instructor and artist Lisa Coddington. Her last fall drawing and painting workshop is 20 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Los Alamos Nature Center. This class, made possible by Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC), will focus on drawing colorful and intricate autumn leaves.

Get Ready For The Glow Factor Tonight!

Los Alamos Arts Council volunteers Sam Nasise and Sophia Salazar gut pumpkins during the carving party held this morning at the Smith’s Marketplace. The pumpkins were carved to be included in today’s Pumpkin Glow. The event will be held 6-9 p.m. at the Fuller Lodge lawn. The event is free but donations will be accepted. The Los Alamos Arts Council has held the event for 14 years. It has become a staple in the MainStreet’s Halloweekend festivities. This year, the event earned the Food Network magazine’s attention. Flat Jack was spotted Tuesday on Central Avenue near CB FOX Kidz, in front of the Teen Center on 20th Street and in front of Fuller Lodge. The skeleton is created from chalk and painted on the local roads using sewer grates for his rib cage.

Los Alamos Creative District Curator Ryn Herrmann made the Flat Jack template to promote Halloweekend Friday Oct. 27 and Saturday Oct. 28 in downtown Los Alamos.
