Meet Missoula Children’s Theater Directors

Missoula Children’s Theatre Directors Julia Bourland and Ryan Jacob Pierce will be bringing the theatre’s production of “Aladdin” to the stage in Los Alamos.

Bourland said she is thrilled to start her post graduate life with the Missoula Children’s Theatre.

She graduated in three years with a BFA in theatre with an acting emphasis from Viterbo University. Some of her favorite credits include Agnes from “Dancing at Lughnasa,” Capulet in “Romeo and Juliet” and Moth in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Music and performing have always been a part of Los Alamos natives Kristen Annalize Sussman’s and Nathan Salazar’s lives. Although the arts have taken Sussman and Salazar throughout the country and the world, they are returning to their hometown to host a concert.

Missoula Children’s Theater: ‘Aladdin’ Auditions Aug. 7

LAAC News: 

Los Alamos Arts Council (LAAC) and Missoula Children’s Theatre will hold auditions for “Aladdin” 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Aug. 7 at Crossroads Bible Church. Those auditioning should arrive at 9:30 a.m. to register and stay for the full two hours.

Those who are selected for a part need to stay after the auditions for their first rehearsal, which is 12:30-2:30 p.m. There is no cost to audition but there is a $35 fee to participate in the production.

Cinema Cindy Reviews ‘Atomic Blonde’

“Atomic Blonde” may not have a totally coherent plot at its core, but the movie is basically entertaining.
 
Based on a graphic novel entitled “The Coldest City”, the film wants to be a cult classic, an effort that fails. Instead it offers a kickass MI-6 spy named Lorraine Broughton, played by Charlize Theron, who gets to wear great outfits, smoke like a chimney, and take down a lot of bad guys.
 
The framework of the film is Lorraine, reporting to her “superiors” (played by Toby Jones, John Goodman and James Faulkner) the story of what went wrong.

Brown will give his first solo art show at the Karen Wray Gallery 5-7 p.m.  Friday, Aug. 4 at 1247 Central Avenue, Suite D-2 in Los Alamo

“Allen is an artist who should be more well known,” Wray said. “He understands light, shadow, composition, design, and perspective. He has lots of heart. He feels it, and you can see that in his work.”
