Albuquerque Woman Sentenced For Participating In Scheme To Smuggle Drugs Into Otero County Prison

ALBUQUERQUE — Ana Lopez, 25, of Albuquerque was sentenced in federal court Wednesday, June 24, in Las Cruces to 30 months in prison followed by two years of supervised release for her conviction on conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and heroin.
 
Lopez was one of six individuals charged in April 2014, in a criminal complaint with conspiracy to violate the federal narcotics laws by smuggling controlled substances into the Otero County Prison Facility (OCPF) in Chaparral.

SANTA FE  More than $11 million in Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) and Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grants were recently awarded to 27 multi-modal projects across New Mexico.
 
Multi-modal projects include sidewalks, bicycle paths, and transit stops, which provide benefits such as reduced congestion and improved air quality.

TAOS — Now in its 10th year, the Up and Over 10K Run in the Taos Ski Valley will hit the ground running with a challenging 6.2 mile trail run on Aug. 1.
 
And, to celebrate trail running, there will be a presentation of nine inspirational films at the “Trails in Motion Film Festival,” July 31.

Runners will have amazing views of both Kachina and Wheeler Peaks at the 10K trail run. The trail run starts at 9,207 feet with more than a 2,600-foot elevation gain in the first three miles.
