SANTA FE  The New Mexico Museum of Art welcomes Rebecca Aubin to the newly created position of Head of Education and Visitor Experience.
 
Aubin will develop a comprehensive vision for the museum’s educational and public programs with the goal of improving and enhancing overall visitor experience. Enhancing the museum’s position as a community center for the arts and extending its statewide outreach are also in the works.

After eight years of providing programs at the Ortiz Mountains Educational Preserve, the Botanical Garden’s Board of Directors has voted to discontinue their hikes on wilderness property owned by Santa Fe County.

WASHINGTON, D.C.  U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-N.M. introduced S. 1434, the Energy Storage Promotion and Deployment Act, to establish an energy storage portfolio standard for electric utility companies.
 
A utility may meet the standard with any combination of storage technologies and ownership, including storage located at homes or businesses. U.S. Sen. Angus King, I-Maine is a cosponsor of the bill.

Pajarito Astronomers Host Dark Night June 13

The Pajarito Astronomers will hold a County-Sponsored Dark Night at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 13 at Spirio Soccer Field, Overlook Park. 
 
Weather permitting, the public is invited to come out, wander among the telescopes, and star gaze. The planets Venus, Jupiter and Saturn will be visible. There will be a tour of the spring and summer constellations, and there will be telescope views of double stars, star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies.

New Mexico Regulators Delay Final Ruling On PNM Plan To Continue Burning Coal

ALBUQUERQUE  The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (PRC) announced plans to postpone a final ruling on PNM’s proposal to continue burning coal at the San Juan Generating Station until the utility is able to secure final coal supply and ownership agreements.
