County Councilors Host Booth At Farmers Market Thursday

COUNTY News:

Two Los Alamos County Councilors, along with the Racial Equity and Inclusivity Task Force, will host a booth at the local Farmers’ Market 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28.

Market-goers are encouraged to stop by and chat with them about current issues, projects or other topics.

County Council hosts a booth at the outdoor Farmers Market twice per month during the warmer season. This will be the last opportunity to talk with Council at the Market until next year. Read More

SANTA FE —The Lensic announces eight new performances in 2022 in its Lensic Presents series of original programming.

The new events round out the Lensic Presents 2021‒22 Season, which launched in September.

LANL Foundation Supports K-12 Education With $1.4M Influx

LANL Foundation News:

ESPAÑOLA — LANL Foundation has announced it is awarding 35 grants totaling $1.4 million to educational institutions, Tribal communities, schools and organizations serving public school students and educators across northern New Mexico to deliver meaningful programs throughout the course of the next two years.

This latest grant cycle is the largest competitive round of funding LANL Foundation has distributed to date to school and community-based educators and organizations. Each grantee has been awarded $20,000 per year for two consecutive years totaling $40,000. Read More

New Mexico Higher Education Department Announces Dental School Partnership With Texas Tech University

SANTA FE — Future New Mexico dental students will have something to smile about thanks to a partnership between the New Mexico Higher Education Department (NMHED) and Texas Tech University’s Hunt School of Dental Medicine in El Paso.

In an agreement between NMHED and Hunt School of Dental Medicine announced Tuesday in Las Cruces, the agency will cover the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition for two New Mexico students who otherwise would be required to pay the higher out-of-state tuition to attend the Texas school.
