Atomic City Quilts Participates In Raffle To Support Wheel Chair Ramp Installation At ‘Our Of The Assumption Catholic Church’ In Jemez Springs

A quilt is on display through Nov. 16 at Atomic City Quilts, 1247 Central Ave. in downtown Los Alamos. The store is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win this quilt. Tickets cost $5 each or five for $20. Tickets will be sold through the end of November. Proceeds will benefit Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Jemez Springs. The church is raising funds to install ramps for wheel chairs to make the church ADA compliant. The quilt, which showcases mission churches in New Mexico, features real turquoise and jewels. Hot flashes, heartburn and anger. What do these three have in common? From a yogic perspective they all include the element of heat. Hot flashes are self explanatory. Heartburn, often can feel like a burning or searing and when we are angry we get a rush of heat like energy in the body.

There are numerous yoga poses that can help navigate all of these everyday “heat” occurrences. Today though, I’d like to share with you a pranayama or breathwork practice that can also help “cool” us off.
