New Exhibit To Open 3 At Bond House Museum In Española

The Bond House Museum News:

The San Gabriel Historical Society invites the community to the Bond House Museum for the opening of “From the Pueblos to the Pacific: Westward Explorations Across Indian Country During New Mexico’s Spanish, Mexican & American Eras, 1776-2026”, 1-4 p.m. on July 3 at 706 E. Bond St. in Española.

Light refreshments will be served. Seating is limited.

If you are reading this article on or before June 25, and you might like to make this year’s governor’s race a little more interesting, there’s something you can do.

Go to the Secretary of State website and sign the nominating petition for Ken Miyagishima for Governor. Then sign the separate nominating petition for his running mate, JC Lopez, for lieutenant governor. It just takes a couple of minutes. The forms are at www.electronicpetitions.elections.sos.nm.gov.

Deer Canyon Fire Discovered Today South Of Mountainair

New Mexico Forestry Division News:

The Deer Canyon Fire was discovered at 4 p.m. today, June 20 in the Deer Canyon subdivision south of Mountainair. The fire is exhibiting extreme behavior, is active and crowning in piñon-juniper and grass fuels.

Crews are providing point protection, and air resources are on scene providing support. Structures are threatened, and evacuations are in place.

The fire is estimated at 350 acres and is zero percent contained.

FBI: Man Charged With Making Online Threats To Blow Up White House And Kill Federal Law Enforcement

FBI News:

HOUSTON – Acting U.S. Attorney John G.E. Marck  has announced that a 35-year-old man from a small town in Grimes County, Texas has been charged for allegedly transmitting interstate threats via social media. 

Authorities took Peter James Bloomfield into custody June 10 where he remains on related charges. He is expected to make his initial appearance before a U.S. magistrate judge in Houston in the near future.  

The criminal complaint alleges authorities discovered a Texas-based X account with multiple threatening messages directed at federal law enforcement and others. The Read More
