Los Alamos County Police Cmdr. Daniel Roberts is graduating today from the FBI National Academy (FBINA).

“Several of our Senior Staff have now had the opportunity to receive world class training at the FBI Academy,” Chief Dino Sgambellone said. “This training covers a wide range of issues impacting law enforcement today and represents our on-going commitment to continuous improvement. As our Operations Commander, Daniel will utilize this training to improve our operations and service delivery. I am very proud of Daniel and congratulate him on this accomplishment.”

Helen Perraglio has just stepped into her new position as Los Alamos County Administrative Services Director and she is wasting no time tackling objectives for the department.

Mesa Public Library and the White Rock Branch Library are cherished amenities in our community. The library was founded in 1943, just one year after Los Alamos was selected as the site for the Manhattan Project. It was started as a subscription library by 70 couples, each of whom donated $5 for the purchase of books.

Update On Los Alamos County Leisure Lagoon Schedule

Since Aug. 5, the Los Alamos County Leisure Lagoon has been under construction to install tench drains into the floor, which required cutting and removing of concrete.

While the project has gone relatively smoothly, as with any construction project there have been some delays. In order to provide the public with properly repaired and cleaned space, the re-opening of the Leisure Lagoon is delayed until Oct. 16, 2023.

County Parks Division Schedules Tree Pruning Operations To Begin Monday Sept. 25 For Downtown Los Alamos

Los Alamos County Parks Division has contracted with Southwest Fire Defense to prune trees in Ashley Pond Park and along Central Avenue as part of ongoing maintenance.

Work has been scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 25.

Due to possible weather conditions on Sept. 13, the golf course has extended the closure of the golf course as follows:

Sept. 13 – Golf course, practice range and golf shop will be closed; and
