Los Alamos Golf Course Implements Fall & Winter Hours
As of Monday, Sept. 25, operating hours at the Los Alamos County Golf Course will be modified for the fall and winter season.
Fall and winter hours will be as follows:
- Sept. 25, 2023: all rentals must be returned to the Golf Shop before 6:30 p.m.
- Oct. 10, 2023: all rentals must be returned to the golf shop by 6 p.m.
- Nov. 6, 2023: the golf shop/golf course will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. All rentals are due back by 4:45 p.m.
- Dec. 4, 2023, the golf shop will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The golf course and practice range will be closed. This schedule
Preparations Begin For Temporary Chiller Installation At Los Alamos County Ice Rink
Los Alamos County has contracted with American Arena LLC to install a rented temporary chiller that will enable the ice rink to continue its regular skating season from November to February of next year.
A permanent solution for chiller replacement would not have met the schedule for the 2023-2024 ice skating season, thus the County developed an interim solution. American Arena LLC is a Minnesota based company that specializes in the design, engineering, and construction of mechanical systems for ice rinks.

Los Alamos County Launches Adopt-A-Road Program
Los Alamos County Public Works Department has announced the launch of a new Adopt-A-Road program.
Aimed at maintaining the natural beauty of this region by keeping roadside litter at a minimum, the program also fosters civic engagement, environmental stewardship and community pride.
Residents, local businesses, nonprofits and other organizations can get together to actively maintain the county roads’ cleanliness and positively impact the community.

The first event in the series, “An Evening with a Community Steward,” will feature Los Alamos County Sustainability Manager Angelica Gurule for an open discussion 6-7 p.m., Oct. 12 at Mesa Public Library.
Gurule, with her professional excellence in environmental stewardship, has recently taken on the role of Sustainability Manager after nearly a decade with Los Alamos County Environmental Services Division.

The Los Alamos County Community Service Department (CSD) is seeking feedback for several identified amenities within Los Alamos, Canyon Road Tennis Courts, Canyon Road handball wall, Nina Marsh Tennis Courts, Orange Street playlot and Loma Linda Playground.
CSD is looking at the use of these facilities to determine if they are the best use for the community.
