CSD Facilities To Have Modified Hours Friday Sept. 8
COUNTY News:
The Los Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD) will host an employee appreciation breakfast Friday, Sept. 8.
This event has been organized to acknowledge and recognize the contributions of CSD employees to the County, department and community.
To accommodate all employees being able to participate , the following facilities will have modified morning hours:
- Aquatic Center will open at 10 a.m.
- Social Services will open at 10 a.m.
- Parks offices will open at 10 a.m.
- Mesa Public Library and White Rock Library will open at 11 a.m.

Los Alamos Police Respond To Shots Fired Near West Road
The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) responded to gun shots fired around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of West Road and West Jemez Road.
Centerra-Los Alamos security guards responded to the area and secured an adult male subject armed with a firearm who was suffering from a crisis.
Los Alamos Police responded a short time later and secured the male subject who was identified as Cody Adams, 24, of Los Alamos. He was transported to Los Alamos Medical Center for evaluation and care.

Los Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD) will be hosting public meetings Sept. 23, at Pinon Park and then following at 37th Street Play Lot.
These meetings will be held in person at the following times and locations detailed below with the consultant and the Community Services Department present. These playgrounds were noted in the Integrated Master Plan as needing to be upgraded and meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards.

Scenes From Cowboy Breakfast Today At Posse Lodge
A line of hungry people wait outside the Los Alamos County Sheriff’s Posse Lodge this morning for the monthly Cowboy Breakfast at 650 North Mesa Road. The breakfasts are held the first Sunday of each month and benefit different non-profit organizations. The fee for breakfast, which is $10 for adults and $5 for children younger than 10, gets patrons an all-you-can-eat breakfast. Anyone interested in learning more about yoga and sharing their practice with like-minded people while also being a part of a book club is invited to join the quarterly yoga book club at the local libraries.
