Atomic City Transit Regular Service Closed On Labor Day

COUNTY News:

Atomic City Transit regular scheduled bus service will not operate on Monday, Sept. 4, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Bandelier shuttle service will continue to run 30-minute service during the holiday.

Regular fixed-route service will resume Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Los Alamos County Environmental Services & Overlook Convenience Center To Close On Labor Day

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Environmental Services will be closed in observance of Labor Day Monday, Sept. 4.

This includes operations at the Eco Station and the Overlook Convenience Center.

There will be no residential or commercial trash collection service provided on Monday. If the observed date falls on your normal trash collection day please place your materials out on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

The Los Alamos County Community Services Recreation Division invites the community to participate in the 2023 Los Alamos County Horse Show beginning 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 at Brewer Arena on North Mesa.

Entry and fees are $5 per youth class entry and $8 per adult class entry. Registration will be accepted at the Larry Walkup Aquatic Center, 2760 Canyon Road through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23. (No late entries will be accepted.)

Rock Slide, Unstable Conditions Close N.M. 4 Near TA-39

Update: The road is reopened in both directions.

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) is reporting a road closure on N.M. 4 at mile marker 57 near Technical Area 39.

The road is closed in both directions due to a rock slide and unstable conditions.

NMDOT is on scene along with Los Alamos police officers. 

Motorists are advised to avoid the area until field crews can clear the roadway and deem it safe for passage. Read More
