Non-Essential County Facilities Closed Thursday

COUNTY News:

With heavy snow forecasted over night, and temperatures in the single digits, Los Alamos County Manager Steven Lynne has announced that all non-essential County government facilities will be closed Thursday, Feb. 3.

County crews will continue to clear the major roads and streets according to the FY22 Snow and Ice Control Plan.

County Reminder: Focus Group Integrated Community Services Master Plan Virtual Meeting Thursday

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD) seeks community input to develop an Integrated Community Services Master Plan.

Interested members of the public can provide feedback at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3 during a virtual focus group using this Zoom link with Passcode: 0203.

CSD hired a professional consulting service to assist in the development of an Integrated Community Services Master Plan. This plan is to identify and assess existing programs, services, facilities, and gaps.

COVID-19 Testing Services Delayed Today In White Rock

Update: Due to inclement weather, COVID-19 testing by Pathology Consultants of New Mexico (PCNM) today in White Rock is canceled.

COUNTY News:

The COVID-19 testing services by Pathology Consultants of New Mexico (PCNM) scheduled for this morning in White Rock is delayed due to weather.

PCNM intends to have its drive-through testing available by noon today at Overlook Park in White Rock, barring anything unforeseen. Read More

Los Alamos Police Traffic Enforcement Operation Underway Focusing On Accident-Related Violations

LAPD News:

A Los Alamos Police Department traffic enforcement operation is underway and will continue through the year.

The operation is focused on accident-related violations including motorists driving impaired.

Police also are conducting random DWI checkpoints throughout the County during this time frame.

The public can help reduce the risk of vehicle crashes by adhering to posted speed limit signs, allowing enough room between them and the vehicle they are following and driving with caution when roadways are wet.
