New Mexico COVID-19 Update: 3,370 New Cases, Totaling 286,086, 11 New Deaths, 249,938 Recovered
STATE News:SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials announced 3,370 additional COVID-19 cases between Saturday and today.
Los Alamos County reported 13 new cases Saturday to Monday, bringing the total to 831 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
This update includes 11 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:
- 774 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 3 new cases in Catron County
- 79 new

Traffic Alert: Lane Closure On Diamond Drive Nov. 9
COUNTY News:
Crews from the Los Alamos County Traffic & Streets Division will be trimming overgrown elm trees on southbound Diamond Drive from North Road to Sandia Drive.
To safely accomplish this work, crews will be closing the right lane and adjacent sidewalk. Work will begin at 8 a.m. and should be completed by 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9.
Motorists are urged to slow down through the work zone and follow all traffic control devices. Pedestrian traffic also is urged to follow all traffic control devices in the area.

Through a competitive grant process, the Outdoor Recreation Division (ORD) is investing in organizations to build trails, trailheads, signage, river access, and more throughout New Mexico.

County: Winter Sidewalk Guidelines For 2021-22

During the winter months, the County would like to remind residents that it is important to keep sidewalks clear of snow and ice so that they remain passable for postal workers, children walking to school and others who need to use them.

Pueblo Canyon Rim Trail Partially Closed To Nov. 9
COUNTY News:
Crews have closed a small section of the Pueblo Canyon Rim Trail behind the Los Alamos County Airport next to the old incinerator building.
Crews are installing drainage culverts across this section of the trail to remedy drainage issues at the airport.
Work is scheduled for completion Tuesday, Nov. 9.
Crews will place a detour sign at the east and west ends of the trail closure detouring trail traffic through the airport parking lot.

DPU Natural Gas Telephone Survey Launches Today

Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities’ (DPU) customers may receive an automated phone survey sometime between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., today, Nov. 5 through Thursday, Nov. 11.

Council To Consider Loan Increase For White Rock Plant

Ordinance 712 will be considered by the Los Alamos County Council at its meeting 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9.
If approved, the ordinance would authorize the utilities manager to request that the Department of Public Utilities’ (DPU) loan amount with the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) be increased from $17 million up to a maximum of $30 million for the construction of the water resource recovery facility (WRRF).
