Los Alamos Vaccine Clinic/$100 Gift Card Incentive June 16

COUNTY News:

Register at the Los Alamos COVID-19 vaccine clinic scheduled for this Wednesday and receive a $100 gift card.

For the next four days, the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) is running a vaccine incentive program to encourage New Mexico to reach its goal to fully vaccinate 60 percent of its population by June 17. 

The incentive is a $100 gift card for every eligible New Mexican who either receives a COVID-19 booster of Pfizer or Moderna or the single dose Janssen vaccine between Monday, June 14 and Thursday, June 17.

White Rock Branch Library Hosts Story Walk

In conjunction with the new Splash Pad opening at Pinon Park, the White Rock Branch Library is featuring a story walk. The story is Jabari Jumps by Gaia Cornwall. The story walk begins at the branch library on Sherwood Boulevard and finishes at the Splash Pad. Los Alamos County Library Youth Services Director Melissa Mackey said participants are encouraged to take a picture by one of the ‘story pages’ and text it to 505.500.4406 for a chance to win a copy of the book. Piñon Splash Pad Opens In White Rock At 1 p.m. Today!

Los Alamos County Community Services Department has announced that the Piñon Splash Pad opens to the public at 1 p.m. today on Sherwood Boulevard in White Rock.

The Piñon Splash Pad project was one of several projects related to the Recreation Capital Outlay, approved by County Council in 2017. Construction began on the $827,800 project during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

New Mexico COVID-19 Update: 103 New Cases, Total 203,919 With 3 New Deaths And 191,490 Recovered

SANTA FE – New Mexico Department of Health officials announced today 103 new COVID-19 cases.

Los Alamos County reports zero new cases today so the total remains at 532 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

This update includes 3 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

The White Rock MRA Resolution passed at Tuesday’s Council meeting.

Canyon Rim Trail Path Undergoes Repairs June 14-18

A section of Canyon Rim Trail is scheduled for repairs in mid-June.

The section of Canyon Rim Trail that extends behind Smith’s grocery store to behind the East Road Fire Station will be closed June 14–18, while crews from Star paving make the needed repairs to the trail path.

Utility Work On La Paloma And La Vista June 14-18

COUNTY News:

Electric line crews with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities, will replace an underground electric primary cable next week in the intersection of La Paloma Drive and La Vista Drive in White Rock.

Work is scheduled to occur 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, June 14 through Friday, June 18. Traffic impacts will be minimal.

Crews will be working in the southeast shoulder of the intersection with traffic barricades around the construction zone. Two-way traffic will be maintained with a flagging operation at times.
