COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic For 2nd Dose Of Pfizer Sunday
COUNTY News:
Nambe Drugs and Los Alamos County remind the community that a COVID-19 vaccination clinic is set for 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, June 6 in Griffith Gymnasium at Los Alamos High School, at 1300 Diamond Dr.
The clinic is to administer the second booster of Pfizer for individuals who received their first dose on May 16 and are primarily between ages of 12 and 15 years.
Parental consent is required for minors under the age of 18 for each vaccine appointment.

County: Water Line Repaired On San Ildefonso Road
COUNTY News:
Water crews with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities have repaired the water line break on San Ildefonso Road in the North Mesa neighborhood. (This road was incorrectly identified as Camino Uva in a previous press release.)
Water pressure should be fully restored by 4 p.m. today to all customers in the area.
Department officials advise customers that water may appear murky due to entrained air bubbles and small amounts of sediment or rust that may have stirred up from the bottom of the water main.

Los Alamos County Sheriff Joseph Granville is advising the community of a newly registered sex offender
Anthony Garcia registered with the local sheriff’s office Tuesday, June 2. He was convicted in the First District Court of Los Alamos of five counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Penetration of a Child under 13 (30-9-11(C)), a first-degree felony and 10 counts of Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor under the age of 13 (R-30-9-13), a second-degree felony.

Oliver Sutter Completes ‘1,000 Books Before Kindergarten’
Oliver Sutter, 4, is spotted recently at the Youth Services Desk in Mesa Public Library holding the book, stickers and squishy toy he earned for completing the ‘1,000 Books Before Kindergarten’ reading program offered by the Los Alamos County Library System. Atomic City Transit Moves To 50 Percent Capacity Friday
COUNTY News:
Atomic City Transit (ACT) will increase the number of passengers allowed on public transportation vehicles to one-half of the vehicle’s design capacity beginning Friday, June 4.
Passengers shall practice social distancing by maintaining three-foot separations between individuals rather than the six-foot distance previously required.
The use of masks will continue to be required for passengers to board and ride public transportation. Atomic City Transit operators will continue to be required to wear masks.

Racial Equity And Inclusivity Task Force Holds First Meeting

The County’s newly formed Racial Equity and Inclusivity Task Force (REI) held its first meeting Tuesday via Zoom.
They discussed how the task force should operate and agreed to ask the Los Alamos County Council for clarification on what it can and cannot do. More specifically, task force member Lisabeth Lueninghoener, who served as chair during the first part of Tuesday’s meeting, said the group would like clarification on whether it is subject to the Open Meetings Act and needs to follow the boards and commission handbook.

Michelle Lujan Grisham today authorized the execution of a new statewide public health order that places each of the state’s 33 counties at the least-restrictive Turquoise Level within the state’s color-coded county-by-county risk framework, reflecting significantly decreased risk of viral transmission statewide.

Los Alamos County Atomic City Transit (ACT) today issued the following Bus Stop Closure Notice:
Stop #104 Trinity Drive and Timber Ridge Road will be closed during construction. This closure will affect Route 1, outbound from the Transit Center.
