Council Approves Ordinance To Grant 20th Street Parcels For New Hotel & Conference Center To TNJLA

In a 5-2 vote, Los Alamos County Council approved an ordinance adopting an economic development project for public support, which is a grant of 6 parcels of land totaling approximately 2.6 acres on 20th Street, to TNJLA LLC during its Tuesday night work session. TNJLA LLC plans to build an 86-room extended-stay hotel on the land as well as a conference center that will accommodate between 250-300 people. County Ice Rink Improvements Public Meeting Oct. 23

COUNTY News:

The public is invited to attend a public meeting Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Mesa Public Library (meeting rooms 1-3 – upper level) to review and comment on preliminary designs for Ice Rink Improvements Project.

The presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by a question and answer period.

Improvements include new locker room and restroom improvements to the existing building.

Residents can provide written comments the night of the meeting. Public comment will continue to be accepted through Wednesday, Oct. 30 and shared with the design team.

Fog Seal Project Date Changed To Thursday Oct. 24

COUNTY News:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the fog seal project in White Rock has been changed to Thursday, Oct. 24.
 
A GM Emulsion crew will start fog sealing beginning on Rover Boulevard starting at N.M. 4, continue toward Grand Canyon Drive and down Grand Canyon Drive starting at N.M. 4 to Meadow Lane. The crew also will work on Bryce Avenue, starting at Rover Boulevard to Meadow Lane.
 
Crews will be working 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Weather permitting, work should be completed by Oct. 24.
 
The contractor will set up a flagging operation allowing traffic to flow.

Fog Seal Project Begins In White Rock Oct. 18

GM Emulsion will start fog sealing Friday, Oct. 18, beginning on Rover Blvd starting at N.M. 4 and continue toward Grand Canyon Drive.
 
Fog sealing is a light application of a diluted slow-setting asphalt emulsion to the surface of an aged (oxidized) pavement surface. Fog seals are used to restore flexibility to an existing surface.
