Following last night’s major snowstorm and as snow continues today, the County’s Public Works Director Philo Shelton asked for the community to continue to be patient with snow-clearing crews.

County Traffic Alert: Major Snowfall Overnight Severely Impacts Roads … DO NOT Attempt Travel This Morning!
COUNTY TRAFFIC ALERT:
Major snowfall overnight has severely impacted roads within the County.
Crews are responding but the amount of snow to clear will take extra time even for main roadways.
Camp May Road to Pajarito Mountain is NOT OPEN at this time. Crews are coordinating with the ski hill staff on their opening time today and will update residents.

New Year’s Eve Buzz Bus: Don’t Drink & Drive Dial-A-Ride!

Atomic City Transit, in partnership with the Los Alamos County DWI Council, is once again offering free Dial-a-Ride service for transport to and from New Year’s Eve parties.
Service will begin at 6 p.m. and the last drop-off will be at 1 a.m.

All other County facilities are closed New Year’s Day, this includes Municipal Court, and there will be no recycling or trash collection New Year’s Day. Those affected should place materials out Wedensday, Jan. 2.

The New Mexico Lobo Hockey Team (club team) has put together a set of matches for the first up Los Alamos Nuclear Shootout.
The three-day event will be played Jan. 11, 12 and 13 at Los Alamos County Ice Rink at 4475 West Road.

The winter snowstorm is impacting several Los Alamos County services:
- Los Alamos Teen Center is closing at 7 p.m. today.
- Los Alamos County Ice Rink will not have public skating today however, this evening’s hockey tournament is scheduled to occurr.
- Los Alamos History Museum is CLOSED
- Fuller Lodge Art Center is CLOSED
- Los Alamos Nature Center is CLOSED
- Los Alamos & White Rock Visitor Centers are CLOSED
- Bradbury Science Museum is open
- Atomic City Transit routes are running on schedule, with minor delays but check the ACTracker for up-to-the-minute updates on bus locations.

Both west and eastbound lanes will be closed until the roadway has been cleared.
