Izraelevitz: Proud Of Service Among The Best People
By DAVID IZRAELEVITZWhat makes for good government? Is it being responsive to local needs and expectations? Is it being fiscally responsible and a good steward of tax dollars? Or strategic planning that moves a community forward? Yes, all these things, but as the campaign season ends and my continued service is in the hands of you, the voters of Los Alamos, I want to talk about the most important component of government, and one that I have been most proud to serve with. Robinson: Thank You For Being Engage In The Issues
By JAMES ROBINSONDemocratic Candidate
It is hard to believe that we are down to the last week of this election cycle, and I want to thank everyone for their patience during this long campaign.
Elections seem to come earlier and earlier, but the people of Los Alamos have been fantastic in inviting me, and my fellow candidates to speak to as many different groups as we possibly could.
For me, it seems like yesterday that me and my fellow candidates were all crammed in the municipal building after declaring our candidacies, patiently waiting for our ballot position in the primary. Read More

Letter To The Editor: The Lab, The County, And GRT
By GEORGE HAGEDORN
I think the county has been looking at the Lab GRT issue as the glass being half empty verses being half full.
If the government would have closed down the Lab after WWII and moved out of town, Los Alamos would most likely now be a one horse town at the end of the road. The major employer would most likely be a seasonal boys ranch. Because the Lab stayed in business the county has over 18,000 population with about 8,000 households and a proportionate number of businesses/commercial properties to service this population.

Walking A Day In A Firefighter’s Shoes
Los Alamos Daily Post Reporter Kirsten Laskey, center, with other participants during the LAFD’s Firefighter for a Day program. LAFD/Courtesy It’s amazing what can be learned when you put your feet in another person’s shoes. Particularly if those shoes are thick-soled, rubber black boots. Just trying to shove your feet down into them requires a good deal of stamina. Once your feet fit in, however, where those shoes can take you will astound and amaze.
