Los Alamos County’s bi-annual citizen survey results are now available for the public to review. The report can be downloaded from the County’s website: https://www.losalamosnm.us/government/open_gov
 
A printed copy also is available to review in the information center in the west vestibule of the Municipal Building at 1000 Central Ave.
 
The firm under contract to conduct the County’s survey was Southwest Planning & Marketing in Santa Fe. The County has regularly conducted citizen satisfaction surveys since 1996. County staff use the information

First Judicial District Judge David K. Thomson has denied petitions for the recall of Los Alamos County Councilors Antonio Maggiore, Susan O’Leary and Rick Reiss filed by Greg White, candidate for Los Alamos County Sheriff.

Crack Sealing Project Begins In White Rock Today

COUNTY News:

Road crews begin crack sealing work today on Rover Boulevard and Meadow Lane in White Rock. This is a mobile operation and substantial traffic disruption is not anticipated.

Working hours are expected to be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and the work is expected to last no longer than 14 calendar days. Once the work is completed on Rover Boulevard and Meadow Lane, crews will continue crack sealing in Pajarito Acres and La Senda for an additional four weeks.

Drivers are urged to be patient and drive safely through these work zones.

Mesa Public Library Continues Many Services And Programs During Improvement Project

LIBRARY News:

Mesa Public Library in Los Alamos will undergo extensive renovations beginning Aug. 20, as contractors replace lighting and air handling equipment throughout the building. More than 95 percent of the building will be closed during the construction, but a small area of the building is set aside to be open to the public as an access point for library services. Patrons will not be allowed into the stacks during the project, due to poor air quality and possible safety hazards.

The White Rock Branch Library will maintain normal operations, with additional staff to serve the public. Read More

U.S. Senators Tom Udall (D-N.M.) and Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) have announced more than $23 million in grants to support air transportation infrastructure at 26 airports across New Mexico, including $236,276 for reconstruction of 6,500 feet of perimeter fence at the Los Alamos County Airport.
