If you have ever driven the streets of Los Alamos in the dark when it is raining or snowing, desperately searching for a house number, you will understand why Los Alamos Fire Department is calling on property owners to maintain visible numbers on their houses.

The Los Alamos County Council will consider an immigration proclamation this coming Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017. This is a toned-down version from the April resolution, to which Councilor Antonio Maggiore stated, “could have easily been deemed as geared toward Donald Trump”.

CB FOX owner Dave Fox explains that his involvement in the local tourism industry began with a t-shirt. He said in 1959, then Laboratory Director Norris Bradbury scribbled a picture of an atomic bomb on a napkin at Sparky’s restaurant. That image was put on a t-shirt that the department store sold to tourists.

Police Arrest Suspects Fleeing In Stolen Truck

Police responded to a report of shoplifters fleeing Smith’s Marketplace at about 10 p.m. Friday in a stolen truck. An officer encountered the truck in a cul-de-sac off East Road near Arroyo Lane. Police Chief Dino Sgambellone told the Los Alamos Daily Post this morning that the officer, whose name is not being released at this time, exited the vehicle and walked toward the truck. The driver drove aggressively toward the officer who fired a shot. The truck hit some mail boxes and crashed into a parked vehicle. DPU Releases Customer Survey Results

COUNTY News:

DPU began to survey its customers every two years in 2005 to measure perceptions regarding service quality, value, reliability and communication effectiveness. 

The Board of Public Utilities further adopted a strategic plan objective for the DPU to achieve and maintain a mean satisfaction score equal to or greater than 3.5. Customers are asked to rate their experience as 4 = excellent, 3 = good, 2 = fair, or 1 = poor. Results from the 2017 customer satisfaction survey conducted last May are in. Trinity Drive Lane Closures During Next Two Weeks

As part of 20th Street Extension Project, construction crews will be locating existing underground utilities on Trinity Drive at the intersection of 20th Street followed by placement of new underground conduit via subsurface boring.
