Aquatic Center Hours: Week Of July 28

Due to issues caused by the power outage on July 22, the Aquatic Center’s main pool will remain closed until Monday, Aug. 4, 2025. However, the Therapy Pool will open at 7 a.m., and the Leisure Lagoon at 8:00am for the week.
The Therapy Pool will be open on Saturday, Aug. 2, all day from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. The Leisure Lagoon will be closed starting Saturday, Aug. 2, for scheduled maintenance through Aug. 24.

Tell DPU How You Really Feel About Electrification

The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) wants to better understand community perspectives on electrification, or the gradual transition away from natural gas usage to electricity only.
An online survey on the topic was emailed to DPU’s utility customers today. The survey seeks feedback on DPU’s goal of achieving zero natural gas usage by 2070. A collaborative effort, the survey is being distributed by DPU while research and analysis is being conducted by the University of New Mexico (UNM) and New Mexico State University (NMSU).

Los Alamos County Issues Email Scam Warning

Los Alamos County officials are warning residents and vendors to be on alert after discovering a sophisticated phishing scam involving fraudulent emails that appeared to be from Los Alamos County.
A contractor working with the County recently received one such email, which falsely claimed an overdue balance and included instructions to submit payment via wire transfer. Although the message appeared legitimate, referencing real details about the contractor’s relationship with the County, it was determined to be fraudulent.

North Central Regional Transit District: Temporary Service Reductions Due To Ongoing Driver Shortage

ESPAÑOLA — The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) announced Thursday a series of temporary service reductions affecting several Blue Bus routes and services, beginning Monday, August 4, 2025, due to a continued shortage of transit operators.
Effective Aug. 4:
