Golf Course Water Main Repaired Sunday Evening

COUNTY News:

A water leak in a 16-inch water main that was discovered at the golf course on Friday evening was repaired by the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities crews late Sunday evening. 

Initially, DPU reported that repairs would be delayed until Monday, Feb. 6, after safety became a concern Friday night. At the Feb. 14 Los Alamos County Council meeting, the Environmental Sustainability Board (ESB) will present its findings and recommendation regarding the Brush and Bulk Item Collection Program.

The following recommendations will go before County Council for review and approval:

Poll workers assist voters obtain ballots for the 2017 LAPS and UNM-LA Advisory Board Election late this afternoon in the Municipal Building. Los Alamos County Elections Manager Gloria Maestas told the Los Alamos Daily Post that as of about 4:45 p.m. today, 311 votes were cast at the Municipal Building in Los Alamos and 489 were cast at the library in White Rock. Alert: Lane Closures At Diamond & Canyon Feb. 8-10

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Traffic Division will be setting up for lane closures at Diamond Drive and Canyon Road Wednesday, Feb. 8 through Friday, Feb. 10 to allow for installation of illuminated hospital signs.

The work will begin at 9 a.m. and shut down for the lunch hour starting at 11:30 a.m. through 1:15 p.m. and end each day at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Los Alamos County Council Votes On Recreation Bond Election Resolution At Regular Meeting Feb. 14

Los Alamos County voters will have the opportunity to vote on a $20 million recreation bond package with a mail-in ballot this May. If the bond vote passes, the Los Alamos County Council voted at its Dec. 20 regular meeting to supplement the bond with an additional $13.4 million in County funds to build a multi-generational pool, splash pad and a recreation center with a multipurpose activity center that houses two gymnasium spaces, a running track and indoor ice arena, as well as golf course and softball field improvements.

The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities reports this evening that repairs to the water main break discovered Friday at the Los Alamos County Golf Course will be delayed until Monday, Feb. 6.

Officials with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities are reporting a water line break at the Los Alamos Golf Course.

As of 3:30 p.m. today, crews are deployed and are taking immediate action.
