Sherwood Boulevard Closure Scheduled Oct. 27
COUNTY News:
Due to rain delays, Sherwood Boulevard in White Rock is now scheduled for closure Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Work is scheduled through the weekend to prepare the roadbed for paving. Monday, Oct. 26, construction crews will be paving the northbound lane of Sherwood Blvd. The southbound lane will remain open. Motorists might experience minor delays particularly at driveways and cross streets.
Tuesday, Oct. 27, Sherwood Blvd. will be closed from N.M. 4 to Aztec Avenue to complete final paving of all traffic lanes. Access to adjacent businesses will be detoured to Rover Blvd., Bonnie Read More

Photographer Tony O’Brien, whose exhibit “Light in the Desert: Photographs from the Monastery of Christ in the Desert” is showing in the Upstairs Gallery at Mesa Public Library, will give a gallery talk at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 in the gallery.
O’Brien is a documentary photographer whose work has appeared in many national and international publications. Peter LaDelfe will give a free talk at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 at the Los Alamos Nature Center at 2600 Canyon Road where he will reveal how to capture the elegance of the night sky with each participant’s camera.
The lesson will focus on producing images of the Milky Way with illuminated foreground features.
LaDelfe will cover the following topics:
- how to determine the optimum times and locations;
- selection of equipment;
- settings and procedure for image capture;
- light painting of foreground; and
- post-processing.
