Early this morning, Los Alamos County issued a new Open Forum topic: What do you think the County should do about ADA access to the Fuller Lodge second floor?

The current elevator at Fuller Lodge does not meet ADA standards, cannot accommodate wheelchairs, and is quite small. With the anticipated increase in visitors to Los Alamos due to the Manhattan Project National Historical Park, the County wants to explore options to provide access to the second floor of the Lodge to all visitors.

Lucero has been a law enforcement officer since 1988, he attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and is serving his second term as sheriff of Los Alamos County.

Second Public Meeting On Plastic Bag Ban Petition Is At Fire Station 3 In White Rock Thursday

COUNTY News:

This is a reminder that the Environmental Sustainability Board will hold its second public meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18 at Fire Station #3 in White Rock to review the plastic bag ban petition proposed to Los Alamos County Council during an April Council meeting.

The Board has asked one member of the supporting and opposing parties to present at the meeting. Each presenter will provide a 15 minute structured presentation regarding how the plastic bag ban would align with County Council’s Strategic Leadership Plan.

Faulty Cable Causes Barranca Mesa Power Outage

DPU News:

A faulted underground cable was the cause of Wednesday afternoon’s power outage. 

Approximately 95 Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities’ (DPU) customers lost power at about 3 p.m. east of San Juan Road on Barranca Mesa. DPU electric linemen located the fault, made repairs and restored power by 5:35 p.m. to the affected residences.
