Atomic City Transit Announces Extended Hours For Friday Night Bus Service To 2025 Summer Concerts

Ride Atomic City Transit to the Los Alamos Summer Concerts at Ashley Pond all summer. The 2025 summer concert bus schedule extends service on three fixed routes to allow concert goers to leave their car at home and avoid parking hassles or a long walk to Ashley Pond.

The special bus service hours begin Friday, May 23, and run through Sept. 5, 2025.

Los Alamos County Parks and Open Space Division has announced that the Piñon Splash Pad at 10 Sherwood Blvd. in White Rock, will open for the season at 10 a.m., Friday, May 23. The Splash Pad will be operational daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and is scheduled to remain open through Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1, 2025.

Three Local Athletic Fields Set To Close For Renovations

COUNTY News:

Beginning Saturday, May 24, Bun Ryan and Senior sports fields on North Mesa in Los Alamos, along with the Spirio soccer field in White Rock will be closed.

According to officials from the Los Alamos County Parks Division, the closure will allow an “exciting renovation project” to begin, aimed at improving the playing surfaces of these fields to enhance performance and safety for athletes. NMDOT Closing Westbound Lane On Main Hill Today For Road Sealing Operation

COUNTY News:

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will close the westbound lane of N.M. 502 today beginning at approximately 10 a.m. to place asphalt sealant on the roadway.

A 3-mile flagging operation will be in place beginning east of the N.M. 4/N.M. 502 interchange at mile marker 7.0 and continue to mile marker 4.5 east of Camino Entrada.  

The lane closure is expected to remain in effect until about 4 p.m. today.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution when traveling through the area.

Westbound motorists may use the Truck Route to avoid delays.

Los Alamos Public Library Launches 2025 Summer Reading Program With Circus Arts Event Featuring Wise Fool

The Los Alamos Public Library will kick off its 2025 Summer Reading Program with a day of circus fun Monday, June 2 featuring Santa Fe-based performance troupe Wise Fool. This free celebration for all ages includes hands-on workshops and an evening performance at Ashley Pond.

Bandelier’s Summer Shuttle Service Begins May 19

Bandelier National Monument will begin its free summer shuttle service to Frijoles Canyon, Monday, May 19, replacing the earlier announced date of May 14.

The shuttle, provided by Atomic City Transit, runs every 30 minutes starting at 10 a.m. and will board at the Frey Trail parking lot inside Bandelier.

Unlike previous years, the shuttle is not mandatory unless the parking lots in the canyon fill up. There is no charge for riding the shuttle, but all normal entry fees still apply for entering Read More
