The Aquatic Center is closed through mid-November for the HVAC upgrades project.
While the Aquatics Center is closed, services at the Aquatics Center to the public have been relocated to the Ice Rink and the Municipal Building.

Los Alamos police have charged Steven C. Porter of White Rock with more than a dozen criminal counts including possession of a controlled substance, trafficking of a controlled substance and distribution of a controlled substance.
Porter, 46, is a Pajarito Acres homeowner who was handcuffed and removed from the annual meeting of the Pajarito Acres Home Owners Association Sunday evening at the White Rock Baptist Church on N.M. 4.

County’s Indoor Facility Reservations Responsibility Transferred to CED
COUNTY News:
Beginning today, responsibility for Los Alamos County’s indoor facility reservations is transferred from the Community Services Department (Administration) to the Community and Economic Development Department (Facilities).
The contact person is Bob Feagans. The Fuller Lodge Reservation office will be staffed 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Los Alamos County Firefighter Cari Mace on the job Sunday afternoon in front of Fire Station 6 on East Road. Local firefighters rotate shifts to provide 24/7 coverage to the community and LANL. Single family home and condo/townhome sales combined increased by 8 percent when comparing the second quarter of 2014 to the same quarter in 2013, according to figures released by the Los Alamos Association of REALTORS®.
During this same period, the median price of single family homes dropped by 9 percent or from $277,525 in the second quarter of 2013 to $255,000 in the second quarter of 2014.

Small But Extended Power Outage In La Senda
COUNTY News:
A small but extended power outage occurred Tuesday along La Senda Road in White Rock because of a failure on an underground line.
At 10:45 a.m., about 30 residents along La Senda Road were without power. About half of these customers (15) had their power restored by noon.
As DPU’s electric crews continued working to isolate and reroute power, a second problem was detected along a portion of nearby Piedra Loop, which brought power down from about 1:55 p.m. to 2:10 p.m. at that location. About 30 more customers were affected along Piedra Loop.
