On The Job In Los Alamos: Crew Builds Sidewalk On Central

On the job in Los Alamos a crew is busy completing the finish work on a new sidewalk Thursday afternoon on Central Avenue near Sugar and Cream. This sidewalk and landscaping project is adjacent to the parking lot on Central near 20th Street at the orange barricades. The old parking lot entrance in this location is being closed and the County is extending the sidewalk and landscaping within the right-of-way to provide continuous pedestrian access. Safety Town is returning! This free program is for all children entering kindergarten in Fall 2025. It will be held 8 a.m. to noon Monday, June 2, 2025, through Friday, June 6, 2025, at Barranca Elementary School.

Drivers in White Rock will see two scheduled road closures over the next two weekends for work under the N.M. 4 Water Transmission Line Replacement/Fiber Conduit Installation Project, managed by the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU).

Los Alamos County experienced a community-wide communications outage March 11, 2025, that affected the ability to provide a Zoom option or a standard recording of the in-person County Council meeting held that evening.

Preliminary Assessment Work Continues For Community Broadband Network

Crews from Kelly Cable continue to make progress assessing existing County-owned conduit in the North Community and Western Area neighborhoods as part of the Los Alamos County Community Broadband Network project.
