PAC 8 Summer Media Classes Kick Off At Ashley Pond!

PAC 8 Summer Media classes got off to an exciting start last week, students met June 1 at Ashley Pond for the Pac 8 Beginning Video class which teaches student basic camera techniques, editing with Adobe Premiere, and audio, this class is for 4th – 8th graders. Summer Food Programs Resume For New Mexico Children

SANTA FE — Free meal programs for children are resuming at more than 700 locations statewide this summer, the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care and Public Education departments announced.

The two departments work together on summer feeding programs to make sure children and youth from 1 to 18 have access to nutritious meals from June through August.  

“These programs fill an important nutrition gap when school-based meal programs go offline for the summer and are an important part of our state’s fight against child hunger,” ECECD Secretary Elizabeth Groginsky said.

New Mexico Lottery ​Scholarship Covers Full Tuition 2021-22

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Higher Education Department (NMHED) has announced that the New Mexico Lottery Scholarship will cover the full amount of tuition for eligible students at all public and Tribal colleges and universities for the 2021-2022 school year.

Los Alamos High School SAT Testing Moved To E-Wing

LAHS News:

Los Alamos High School (LAHS) Students registered to take the SAT exam Saturday, June 5 should report no later than 7:45 a.m. to the TFA (E-Wing) building. 

Students should bring the following:

  • Admission ticket;
  • Acceptable photo ID;
  • No. 2 pencils (no mechanical pencils);
  • Acceptable calculator; and
  • Snacks.

Students are required to adhere to COVID-safe guidelines, including wearing a mask and maintaining physical distancing.

Oliver Sutter Completes ‘1,000 Books Before Kindergarten’

Oliver Sutter, 4, is spotted recently at the Youth Services Desk in Mesa Public Library holding the book, stickers and squishy toy he earned for completing the ‘1,000 Books Before Kindergarten’ reading program offered by the Los Alamos County Library System.
