Tuesday, Dec. 13 is Family Night at the Los Alamos Nature Center. Enjoy an evening of games and hands-on activities 6-7 p.m. with Mesa Public Library’s Melissa Mackey. The nature center will be open until 8 p.m. for exploring the exhibits.

This week is Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) and dozens of Los Alamos computer professionals are fanning out to northern New Mexico elementary schools to introduce youngsters to the joys of programming and promote interest in computer science through an Hour of Code.

Local Fundraising For Europe 2016 Educational Trip
EDUCATION News:Local high school seniors are putting the care packages together to raise funds for their educational tour in Europe next summer.
Care packages are $30 and will be shipped this Friday. They will be filled with items to help college kids through their exams such as: hot cocoa, inspirational quotes, tea, Emergen-C packets, stress balls, pens, pencils, tissues, jokes, candy, homemade goodies, a supportive note, local treats, and more.

Quality Of Education Survey Reflects High Confidence In Los Alamos Schools
LAPS News:
The Los Alamos Public Schools 2015-2016 Quality of Education Survey results reflect high levels of confidence in key areas that impact student learning and student well being.
For the last five years, the top three survey questions were consistently at the top of the list. The area of highest satisfaction, schools holding high expectations for academic achievement, focuses on student learning has been #1 for the previous four years.
Participation in the annual survey also is at an all time high. Last spring 929 surveys were submitted across all schools. This was an increase from Read More
