Chamisa Elementary will be hosting their fourth annual Glow Run at 7 p.m., Saturday May 14.
Some changes have been made this year, including a lowering of the entry fee, water bottles for the first 100 entrants in lieu of t-shirts, and we will start the 5k runners before the 1 mile racers. The race will begin and end at Chamisa Elementary in White Rock, 301 Meadow Dr. The 5k will begin promptly at 7 p.m. Racers will follow the Meadow/Rover/Meadow Loop around White Rock.

The University of New Mexico – Los Alamos will host its commencement ceremony Thursday, May 12 to recognize students earning degrees.

Approximately 100 students completed a recognized level of study this spring. Fifty-eight earned Associate of Arts, Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science degrees at UNM-Los Alamos. Robotics Presentation For 6th Graders May 11

LAMS News:

The Los Alamos Middle School Beta Hawks Robotics Team will describe their activities and plans for next school year during a presentation, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the gymnasium at Barranca Elementary School.

While everyone interested in viewing the LAMS robots are welcome, the presentation is ‘geared’ to answer 6th graders’ and their parents’ questions about the robotics program. Guided Hike To Cave Of The Winds May 14

Trail expert Craig Martin will lead a hike to the local Cave of the Winds Saturday, May 14. The two-mile hike includes 500 feet of elevation gain and a bit of a scramble to reach the cave entrance. This hike, organized by the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is one of many events to help people get outside and enjoy nature.

The book, the first in a three-volume series, will be available for purchase in the nature center gift shop.
