The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) Jemez Mountain Herbarium curator, Chick Keller, will lead another Wildflower Walk at 5:15 p.m., Friday, July 18.
The Wildflower Walks occur monthly and are easy walks to identify some of the wildflower beauties found in and around Los Alamos. Each month Keller picks a different trail, depending on what is blooming at the time. The walks are free and there is no advance registration required.

The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) will host a Summer Family Evening, 6:30-8 p.m., July 22 at which staff members from the YMCA will facilitate a fun activity helping kids make pet rock “siblings.”
Families are welcome to drop in any time throughout the program.
After going outside to search for a pair of rocks, kids and their parents will bring them back in to PEEC where they can use different art and craft supplies to make their very own pet rock “siblings.”

The Pajarito Astronomers will hold a County-sponsored Dark Night starting at 8:30 p.m. (sunset), Saturday, July 19 at Spirio Soccer Field, Overlook Park.
Weather permitting, the public is invited to come out, wander among the telescopes and star gaze. The planets Mars, Saturn and Neptune will be visible. There will be a tour of the Summer constellations, and telescope views of double stars, star clusters, nebulae and galaxies.

The Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Foundation has expanded its Educational Outreach Small Grants program to include school district and nonprofit projects outside of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).
Grants of up to $1,500 are available monthly to support public schools and nonprofits working in education in Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe and Taos counties.
