Los Alamos Golf Course Begins Seasonal Closure Dec. 9
COUNTY News:
As the colder months approach, the Los Alamos Golf Course will close for the season starting Dec. 9.
However, the golf shop will remain open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing visitors to purchase merchandise or handle golf-related needs.
The golf shop will be closed weekends.
This schedule will remain in effect through March 7, 2025, pending weather conditions and course maintenance requirements. Any updates regarding reopening or further adjustments will be communicated closer to the spring season.

New Mexico Cannabis Control Division Orders Recall Of Products Over Contamination Concerns

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Cannabis Control Division (CCD) has issued a consumer health and safety advisory after identifying contaminated cannabis pre-rolls and roll-your-own (RYO) products that tested positive for a prohibited pesticide.
The affected products, manufactured and sold by JBS Technologies NM, LLC (DBA Stash House), were distributed to licensed cannabis retailers between Jan. 1, 2024 and Nov. 25, 2024.

Santa Fe National Forest Offices Closed On Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF). The Supervisor’s Office in Santa Fe and all District Offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, in observance of the federal holiday. Regular business hours will resume Friday, Nov. 29.
The holiday season is a time to spend with family and friends and many enjoy cutting down their own Christmas tree on the Santa Fe National Forest. Christmas tree permits can be purchased online at Recreation.gov and in person during regular business hours at local District Offices or at the Supervisor’s Office in Santa Fe.

State Receives $18.6 Million To Keep Homes Warm This Winter
SANTA FE — The New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA) has announced that it has received $18.6 million of Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funds to help New Mexicans stay warm and safe during this winter season.
“No New Mexican should have to choose between staying warm and putting food on the table,” said Niki Kozlowski, director of Income Support Division. “This funding ensures that many families with limited income won’t have to make that choice.”

Los Luceros Historic Site To Host Ranger Walk ‘N Talk Tours Guiding Visitors Through Historic District Dec. 4 & 18

The community is invited to join Interpretive Ranger Kara on one of two guided tours through Los Luceros’ historic district in December.
Visitors will be guided around the site and its buildings, like the nineteenth-century chapel, and learn unique history, such as how it was rebuilt by Luis and Eliza Ortiz after the previous chapel was washed away by the Rio Grande.
