BLM Plans Prescribed Burns Near Tres Piedras

TAOS ― Beginning Oct. 8 and continuing for up to 30 days, the Bureau of Land Management will be conducting prescribed burns on approximately 1,735 acres in the Río Grande del Norte National Monument.
 
The burns are on the east side of Cerro Montoso, 12 miles northeast of Tres Piedras and on the south side of Cerro del Aire (Wind Mountain), four miles northeast of Tres Pierdras. Smoke may be visible from highways US 285 and US 64.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Conservation groups filed a lawsuit in federal district court Tuesday challenging the Trump administration’s continued failure to protect severely imperiled dunes sagebrush lizards under the Endangered Species Act.

Forest Service Resumes Fuelwood Permit Sales At Carson, Cibola, Gila, Lincoln, Santa Fe And Tonto

FOREST SERVICE News:

ALBUQUERQUE  – The court-ordered injunction suspending all timber management activities on the five national forests in New Mexico and the Tonto National Forest in Arizona has been modified to allow the personal cutting and collection of fuelwood. 

The Forest Service will resume permit sales immediately.
