Thanksgiving and Christmas travel by car or air is on our minds and in our calendar. Long lines, higher gas prices inevitable delays are a guarantee.
How do we avoid this stress?
The first and most important step is to develop a mindset that these things are out of our control. Instead we can turn our focus onto the things we can be proactive about. Anxiety and worry will not fix these things so focusing on our personal plan is the healthiest way to move forward.

STATE News:SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials announced 1,844 new COVID-19 cases today and a 7-Day positivity rate of 12.2 percent.
Los Alamos County reports 2 new cases today bringing the total to 885 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
This update includes 25 new deaths today in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:

SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials announced 1,530 additional COVID-19 cases today and a 7-Day positivity rate of 12.3 percent.

Curative Shallow Nasal Swab Testing – regularly available 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday in Los Alamos will not be available Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25.

Pfizer Vaccine Clinic For Ages 5-11 Set For Nov. 22
COUNTY News:
The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) is administering the Pfizer vaccine for children 5-11 years old, 1-4 p.m. Monday Nov. 22, at the First Baptist Church at 2200 Diamond Dr.
Appointments are required and NMDOH has set up instructions at https://vaccinenm.org/kids for parents to register dependent children for the vaccine.
Parents/Guardians should schedule appointments and download consent forms. Use the event code ESVLGNF when registering.
Appointment holders for the clinic are reminded to:

The New Mexico Aging And Long-Term Services Department (NMALSD) will host a virtual state conference, Nov. 17 and 18.
During the conference, local providers will host information booths 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the Betty Ehart Senior Center at 1101 Bathtub Row.

Gruninger: Yoga Therapy – Bridge Pose A Deux

Last week, I shared about Bridge Pose (Setu Bhandasana) as a strengthening pose. However, many poses in yoga can be used for lengthening, strengthening and resting depending on how you practice the pose.
This week we will look at Bridge Pose as a front body opener and restorative or resting back backbend.
