New Mexico Supreme Court Issues Affirmative Opinion On State’s Authority To Enforce Public Health Orders

NM Supreme News:

SANTA FE – The Legislature has authorized state officials to impose civil administrative penalties to enforce public health emergency orders restricting business operations, the New Mexico Supreme Court concluded in an opinion issued Thursday.

The Court’s unanimous written opinion provides the detailed legal reasoning for an oral decision issued from the bench in August following a hearing in which attorneys presented arguments to the justices.

County: Applications Now Open For Childcare And Virtual Learning Assistance Under CARES Funding

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County has opened the application period for individuals to apply for Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) funding for childcare assistance and/or virtual learning assistance.

Individuals impacted by COVID-19 since March 1, 2020 who reside in Los Alamos County and meet income qualifications are encouraged to apply.

CARES Funds: Application Period For Individual Grants For Childcare And Virtual Learning Assistance Opens Friday 

COUNTY News:

Beginning 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, Los Alamos County will open the application period for individuals to apply for Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) funding received from the Federal Government and disbursed through the State of New Mexico’s Department of Finance Administration (DFA) to local governments.

The application period will close in two weeks, at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20.
