NMED News:
The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) has updated its daily COVID-19 Watchlist, which includes New Mexico places of employment that have had two or more rapid responses in the last 14 days.
As of Friday there are 75 establishments on the Watchlist.
A rapid response is initiated when the state learns of a positive COVID-19 case in the workplace. NMED or the state agency initiating the rapid response will offer direction to organizations regarding testing, quarantining and isolating, disinfecting, and COVID-Safe Practices.

NMPED COVID-19 Update: 21 Staff Members And 9 Students Test Positive In New Mexico Public Schools In Last 24 Hours

SANTA FE — The Public Education Department today announced 30 new positive cases of COVID-19 – 21 staff members and nine students – in the last 24 hours.
Rapid response has been initiated, and all pertinent information has been verified with the schools and school districts.
The following new cases have been reported:
- Eight cases in Bernalillo County. Seven of the infected individuals are staff members who were last on school property Sept. 30, Oct. 7, 15, 16 and 20. The other infected individual is a student who was last on campus Sept. 28. All staff members and the parents and guardians

LAPD News:
The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) is conducting its biannual DEA Drug Take Back Day 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 in the north parking lot (off Central Avenue) of the police station.
Due to COVID-19, additional precautions have been put in place to ensure the safety of everyone participating in the event.
LAPD asks the community to follow these guidelines:
- Use the entry into the parking lot from Central Avenue;
- Traffic cones will be in place to guide drivers and officers will assist drivers to drive by a drop off box;

New Mexico Updates High Risk States From Which Visitors And Arriving Residents Must Quarantine For 14 Days

SANTA FE – The state of New Mexico, pursuant to Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s executive order requiring quarantine for out-of-state visitors arriving from high-risk states, today amended the list of states from which visitors and arriving residents must quarantine.
Per the executive order intended to protect New Mexicans by minimizing the risk of spread from out-of-state travel, Washington has been added to the list of high-risk states as of today, Oct. 21.

New Mexico Public Education Department Supported Workshops Designed To Help Parents

SANTA FE — The Public Education Department urges New Mexico parents to participate in a new series of virtual workshops designed to help them prioritize self-care and support their children in remote learning.
The workshop series was funded by PED and created by CNM Ingenuity, an outreach program of Central New Mexico Community College. The sessions, described in more detail here, are open to all New Mexicans at no cost and are available in English and Spanish.
