By KENT PEGGIf you’ve been working out for a long time, there’s no doubt you’ve experienced a plateau from time to time. A plateau occurs when you are continuing your regular workout regimen but you’ve stopped making progress and gains.
While plateaus can be frustrating and even cause a person to abandon their workout routine, they can be overcome by temporarily changing your workout routine to trick your body into responding again.

By Carolyn A. (Cary) Neeper, Ph. D.
I had fun yesterday, hearing and watching the Reservoir Hill turkeys—big brown ones—gobble when they saw me coming up the road. They disappeared down the hill in the grass. I hurried back down and was delighted to find them crossing the road. If they saw me, they didn’t care, for I was 30 yards away, slowed to a leisurely walk.
They took their time climbing the left bank and moving through an old barbed wire fence. Hoping to catch up to them, I hurried down the hill, through the gate to Sausal Pond (a 300-yard-long wildlife site), Read More
Pastor Granillo: Swing Big!
By PASTOR RAUL GRANILLO Swing Big!
“One of the beautiful things about baseball is that every once in a while you come into a situation where you want to, and where you have to, reach down and prove something.” — Nolan Ryan

Anywhere kids are on a team, you will find both parents and Read More

COMMUNITY News:Tips For Pruning Weather Damaged Trees
By CARLOS VALDEZFor moderate pruning repair jobs of weather damaged trees close to ground level, homeowners should follow these guidelines:
- Smaller branches should be pruned back to the point where they join larger ones. Make the cut at a slant next to a bud that can produce new growth. Do not leave branch stubs as they encourage rot and decay.
- Large branches that are broken should be cut back to either the trunk or main limb. Do not cut the branch flush with the trunk. Instead, cut outside the branch collar at the base of the branch.
- Take all necessary safety
