New Mexico State Police (NMSP) arrested a New Mexico Corrections Department Officer May 15, 2025, on multiple charges of Criminal Sexual Contact of female inmates after a lengthy investigation.

The investigation began April 16, 2025, when the New Mexico State Police Uniform Bureau received information about alleged sexual assaults that occurred at the Western New Mexico Correctional Facility in Grants. SANTA FE —The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) New Mexico State Office today opened a 30-day public scoping period to receive public input on 32 oil and gas parcels totaling 20,479 acres that may be included in a January 2026 lease sale in New Mexico and Oklahoma.

Petersen aims to reveal the mechanisms of gene regulation by combining high-throughput microfluidic assays and synthetic biology.
